SBT stocks remanufactured short block engines, top-end kits, piston and ring sets, gasket kits, jet pump rebuild parts, driveline bearing and seal kits, carb rebuild kits, and more for Yamaha WaveRunner and jet boat models. Examples of supported platforms include the 700, 800, 1200, and 1300 2-stroke engines as well as 4-stroke models such as the 1.8L SHO lineup.

For engines, SBT offers two types: remanufactured units built on OEM castings with SBT internals (core exchange required) and units built on SBT castings that do not require a core return. The product page for each engine will show which type applies and any core requirements.

SBT also carries the SBT Scanner Tool 102 (SKU 102), which supports Yamaha WaveRunner diagnostics on 2-stroke GPR 1300 models from 2003–2008 and all 4-stroke models from 2003–2012. The Yamaha 1200 non-power-valve engine covers a wide range of models: GP, XL, SUV, Exciter, and others from approximately 1997–2005. It is also used in dual-engine jet boats like the Yamaha LS2000 and LX2000. See the product page for current pricing and availability.

This engine is sold core-first. That means the customer ships a good rebuildable core to SBT first — no holes, cracks, or breaks in the external casting, and it must match the photos on the product page. SBT provides core-first instructions and a mailing form to include in the shipment. Typical lead time is approximately 10–15 business days after SBT receives the core. Engine shipping weight is approximately 85 lbs.

For carburetor service, non-power-valve 1200 engines use the SBT aftermarket Mikuni SBN rebuild kit (or a genuine Mikuni BN 38/44 square pump kit) — not the BN44I kit used on power-valve engines. These engines typically have three carburetors, so three kits are needed per engine. Rebuilding carbs at the same time as an engine replacement is a good practice.

SBT offers several options for the Yamaha 1.8L engine family. The naturally aspirated (NA) version fits models including the FX HO, VXR, VXS, AR, and SX (2009–2014). A 1.8L High Output version is also available for models such as the 2013 Yamaha 242 Limited S. All SBT remanufactured 1.8L engines include the upgraded timing chain and gears and are painted silver. The 1.8L aftermarket long blocks are new (not remanufactured) and do not require a core return; all remanufactured 1.8L engines are core-first.

Two package options exist for the 1.8L: a standard package (1-year no-fault warranty) and a premium package (2-year no-fault warranty plus an install gasket kit). The engine itself is identical between the two. Break-in guidelines apply — avoid holding a constant RPM for extended periods and skip full throttle for at least the first tank of fuel.

Related parts SBT carries for the 1.8L platform include port and starboard impellers (which use different part numbers) and crankshafts such as SKU 20-412 (OEM 6S5-11411-00-00) for early 1.8L models, though availability varies. SBT's remanufactured 760 engine (part 40-403, or P40-403 for the premium version) fits 1996–2000 Yamaha 760 applications including the Blaster, Venture, Raider, and XL. These are sold as core-exchange units — SBT ships the remanufactured engine first, then the customer returns the old core.

For cylinder work, SBT offers a Yamaha 760 cylinder exchange kit covering the Wave Blaster II, Wave Raider 760, GP 760, Wave Venture 760, and XL 760. The kit includes a complete rebuild and is not core-first: SBT ships the kit first, and customers have two weeks to return their core. Lead time is currently 7–10 business days. Standard bore for the Yamaha 760 is 84mm; staying at standard size is recommended for a cylinder exchange.

One fitment note worth knowing: both 701 and 760 engines can share a 62T-stamped crankcase, so the case stamp alone does not confirm which engine you have. The 760 uses 64X electronics — look for a 66D or 64X tag below the stamp to confirm a 760 application. See the product pages on sbt.com for full fitment details and current pricing.

The 1200 PV and 1200 non-PV are different engines—do not assume they interchange. The non-PV 1200 was used on the SUV 1200; every other 1200-class model listed above uses the power-valve version. If you are unsure which engine your hull has, check the model name on the hull decal or registration paperwork before ordering.

SBT's remanufactured 1200 PV engine is part number 40-407 (standard) or P40-407 (2-year warranty version), covering 1999–2005 applications. To confirm a part fits your specific ski: (1) locate your exact model name and model year, (2) compare them against the fitment list on the SBT product page, and (3) have your hull identification number (HIN) ready if you call SBT's tech line. For installation, the correct gasket kit for 2001-and-up 1200 PV engines is part number 41-407C. A rebuildable core (cases, crankshaft, cylinder block, head, head cover, and all block/cylinder/head bolts—with power-valve assemblies included for PV engines) is required for the core-exchange program.

The Yamaha 1200 PV engine (SKU 40-407, or P40-407 for the extended-warranty version) fits the XL1200, XLT1200, GP1200R, and XR1800 from 1999–2005. SBT sells these through a core-exchange program, so a rebuildable core is required. Salvage yard resources are listed on the SBT website for customers who need to source a core.

For installation, the correct gasket kit is SKU 41-407C (2001 and up models). Sealant is not required on jet pump drive mounting surfaces, though a small amount of marine silicone can be used if preferred. For carb service, 1200 PV engines use Mikuni BN44I carburetors. SBT carries both an SBT aftermarket Mikuni SBN I-body rebuild kit and a genuine Mikuni BN44I kit — one kit per carb. Note that 1200 non-PV models use a different carb and different rebuild kits, so confirm which engine type is in the craft before ordering. The key difference: the non-PV is a single three-cylinder block, while the PV uses individual cylinders with exhaust valves.

The 2-stroke Yamaha 1100 engine covers the Wave Raider 1100, Wave Venture 1100, and Exciter 1100 for model years 1995–1997. These three models share the same engine family and many common components across those years.

The 4-stroke Yamaha 1100 engine (also called the VX110) covers the VX110 Deluxe, VX110 Sport, and the VX line broadly from 2005 through 2014. This is a completely different engine from the 2-stroke 1100 above—the two are not interchangeable.

To confirm a specific SBT part fits your machine, check the model and year range listed on the product page against your craft's hull identification number (HIN) and any engine or model codes stamped on the engine casing. If the listing shows your exact model name and year, the part is confirmed for that application. The Yamaha 1200 non-power-valve engine uses 6 reed petals total, and this set covers that count. The OEM cross-reference is 65E-W0004-00-00 (also referenced as 65U-W0004-00-00). Confirmed fitment includes the GP1200 (1997–1999), LX 2000, SUV, and other 1200 non-PV models through 2005.

Keep in mind that non-power-valve 1200 engines use Mikuni SBN-style carbs — not the BN44I found on power-valve 1200s — so if you're also sourcing carb rebuild kits during the same job, make sure to select the correct kit for non-PV applications.

If you're unsure whether your specific model is a power-valve or non-power-valve engine, check the engine casting or your model's documentation before ordering. Mixing up PV and non-PV parts is a common mistake on Yamaha 1200-family engines.

Both short blocks fit the Yamaha 800 GP, XL, and XLT models (XLT800 2002–2004, GP800, GP800R, XL800). They are brand-new units, not remanufactured, and ship with a free installation gasket kit and free FedEx Ground shipping.

The only difference between the two SKUs is the warranty length. SKU 66-406 carries a 1-year no-fault warranty. SKU P66-406 carries a 2-year no-fault warranty. "No-fault" means SBT covers the unit regardless of who is at fault, with the exception of damage caused by racing, renting, or disassembling the engine.

SBT offers the VX110 engine as a brand-new aftermarket unit — not remanufactured — so no core return is required. Part numbers with a 29- prefix carry a 1-year no-fault warranty; part numbers with a P29- prefix include a 2-year no-fault warranty plus installation gaskets. Both ship free to the contiguous US (Alaska and Hawaii excluded).

Fitment covers the Yamaha VX110 family from 2005 through 2014, including the VX Sport, VX Deluxe, and VX Cruiser. The VX110 displaces 1052cc — note that the FX series is 1100cc, so make sure you're selecting the VX110-specific engine and not an FX unit.

If the engine is otherwise sound but has a worn head, SBT also offers a new aftermarket VX110 head casting (no core required) with all-new valves and springs.
